What I Watched – September 2026

Just Like Heaven: When was the last time I watched a Rom-Com? I should do more of this. Need more of such well-made syrupy stuff in life.

Franklin: I began this anticipating it to be an entertaining capsule of Franklin’s eventful mission to Paris. But right from the dark tones of the cinematography to the shallow script, disappointed.

Bandar: This could have been more promising. Blackmail is probably every man’s worst fear after meeting and hooking up with women through dating apps. Instead of exploring that further, the makers here decided to dwell on the gang wars within the prison. Indrajit with his Brylcreem’d hair and trimmed beard as a prisoner was a perplexing choice.

The Whisper Man: I enjoyed this but have already forgotten most of the plot.

Mayday: This would have been a fun watch if I was 15. Unfortunately, I turned 43 in September.

The Beast in Me: Watched it after the Rhys won an Emmy for this. Claire Danes plays a neurotic person reminding me of her role in Homeland. Average fare.

A Tale of Two Cities: I watched the first two of this series based on Dickens’ masterpiece. The remaining two are dropping this month. Kit Harington as Sydney Carter was a good choice. Part of my French Revolution reading project 🙂

Heart of the Beast: This was lovely. It’s a survival movie that landed a punch since there was no ‘Happily Every After’ ending. It’s something to see Brad Pitt still owning the screen in every shot. The movie is also a reminder that Nature Kills. Reaffirmed my belief that there’s nothing romantic about nature.

Vishwanath & Sons: Managed to watch the first 45 minutes but had to give up after that.
