The duo performed at the Delhi Tamil Sangam today. A concert that was to begin at 6pm, started after a painful hour of speeches by a bunch of men who were introduced as IAS this, Secretary that, CEO, Ram-sevak and so on!
They sang for two hours:
- Ka Va Va in Varali by Papanasam Sivan
- Paripalayamam in Reetigowla by Maharaja Swati Tirunal
- Shiva Shiva Shiva Enaraadaa in Pantuvarali by Thyagaraja
- Rakshamam Sharanagatham in Nattai
- Shri Kalahastisha in Huseni by Dikshitar
- Shri Kanthimathim in Hemavathi by Dikshitar was the main piece. This alone made the wait worthwhile.
The remixed version of Shri Kanthimathim by Kris Ashok is the version I keep going to. Each time I lisen to it, I end up feeling heavy and sad (in a nice way).
