I got to hear Vivek Moozhikulam live for the first time this evening. He sang for two and a half hours at the Subh Siddhi Vinayaka Mandir in Mayur Vihar. I liked his voice and he justified his tag of a rising star of Carnatic Music.
- Sudhha Dhanyasi. (couldnt recognise the krithi he sang)
- Ganapathiye Karunanidhiye in Kharaharapriya by Papanasam Sivan. This was the highlight of the concert for me. Was so moving…
- Muruga Muruga in Saveri by Periysasaami Tooran
- Shri Ramanavibo in Aarabhi by Swati Tirunal
- Bhajanaseyarada in Dharmavati by Mysore Vasudevaacharya
- Nee va da Ne Gana in Saranga by Thyagaraja
- O Rangasayee in Khamboji by Thyagaraja
- Karpagame in Madhyamavati
The concert was held in the small hall above the temple. Despite terrible acoustics, which wasnt helped by a mediocre sound system, the ambience of such venues – small audience, nonchalant attendants and random devotees walking around, make the event all the more special.
