Bharat Sundar sang at the India International Center a few weeks back; a short, brisk concert without too many fireworks.
- Karpagame in Malayamarutham
- Sogasuga Mridunga in Sriranjani (hearing this after ages)
- Padmavati Ramanam in Purvi Kalyani. (Oothakadu composition that I was hearing for the first time. Also learnt that this was composed as a tribute to Jayadeva’s Ashtapadi)
- Thillai Chidambarame in Kapi Narayani
- Akhilandeshwari in Dwijawanti (Sruthi was floored by the composition and has been listening to it on a loop since then; Trichur Brothers’ version is worth listening with headphones and this is MSS singing the same)
- Thyagaraja’s Kaliguyente in Keeravani (Main piece)
- Subramania Bharati’s Kaani Nilam Vendum in Kosala
Rounded off the evening with mutton kababs at Karim’s at the India Islamic Center, next door
